◊ La Camargue at 70 km from the Gites. On the Mediterranean seaside, offers 18 kms of wide sand beaches. Crossed by the canal du Rhone a Sete [canal du midi] this area can be Visited by houseboats.

◊ Le Pont du Gard at 25 km from the gites. This monumental roman engineering feat brought water from the springs of fontaine de l'Eure at the door of Uzes to Nimes .The aqueduct spans over the Gardon river appreciated by the locals.

◊ Nîmes, at 45 km from Lussan, Nimes was a roman colony founded by Augustus and was populated by roman legionaries from Egypt, who came after the battle of Actium [31bc].
During your stay, you may visit : les Arenes, la Maison Carree, inspired by Apollo temple in Rome, la tour Magne and the famous gardens de la Fontaine.

◊ Anduze at 50 km from the gites. Anduze is a gate open to the Cevennes in between the plains and the mountains . If you visit Anduze, make a detour to

>> la Bambouseraie de Prafrance ; magic and exotism of the only bamboo forest of Europe. Created in 1850, this garden offers you in a grandiose setting more than 150 varieties of bamboos, centennial sequoias, Japanese garden with a replica of a typical Laotian village.

>> The antic steam Train des Cevennes offers you a 13km journey in the heart of Cevennes, among the stunning scenery of Gard.

◊ Vallon pont d'Arc Located at the gate of the Ardeche canyons dug in the limestone shelf. You can find a specific ecosystem and fabulous archeological heritage [Grottes Chauvet].
The area is a refuge for protected species as the eagle Bonelli , the European beaver ,or l'Apron of the Rhone. You may practice sports like canoeing, trekking, climbing, speleology.

◊ Lussan (0,5km) This medieval village on the top of the rock is a roman oppidium that became a fortified village overseeing the Garrigues. The castle built in the 16th century has a 360 degrees view covering the Cevennes to the Mont Ventoux.

D 143 and D 643 will get you to The Concluses. Spectacular gorge carved by the river l'aiguillon. It is possible to walk down the gorge by a precipitous path.
